The Lane-Miles Standish printing building commissioned by Alan Lane, Sr. & Miles Standish in 1929 forever changed the landscape of the Northwest Portland neighborhood. A distinctive hexagon tower at the southwest corner was the brainchild of Alan Lane, Sr., inspired by an armory that he had once seen in Washington D.C. The unique architecture of the building has made it a landmark in the area, finding a place in history and ultimately making its way onto the National Register of Historic Places.
